I believe play is essential for healthy child development but I also believe it is their natural form of self expression. Play is their language. The work I do for Theodora Children's Charity as a Giggle Doctor allows me to use humour and sensitivity to engage, interact-with and entertain hospitalised children and their families.
I also work therapeutically with children through play by training to become a Play Therapist. Play therapy is a form of child counselling/psychotherapy which provides a way for children to express their experiences and feelings through a natural, self-guided, self-healing process.
